3 Reasons I’m Looking Forward to Beginning My Freshman Year at Rutgers

In a little over a month from now, I will be moving into my dorm at Rutgers and beginning my freshman year. I’m really nervous, as I’m sure all incoming freshmen are, but I am also really excited to start this next journey of my life. Here are some of the many reasons I can’t wait to get started!!

1. The Classes

Believe it or not, I actually really love to learn, and now that I’m in college, I’ll be able to spend most of my time learning about topics that truly interest me. Every single class I’ve signed up for sounds incredible, and I cannot wait to learn as much as I possibly can. It’s crazy to think about, but I could end up looking forward to going to class every day! I certainly won’t be looking forward to waking up early if I have early classes, but I know it’ll all be worth it come graduation day.

2. The Activities and Clubs

I’ve heard so much about all of the fantastic activities and clubs that Rutgers has to offer, and I cannot wait to become a part of it all. I’m especially looking forward to joining the Quidditch team and auditioning for acapella groups, two activities that I’ve dreamed about joining for a long time. I also want to find some activities that will fit my many other interests, including reading, writing, and playing guitar. I know that Rutgers will have something to fit every single one of them and more, and I can’t wait to pursue as many opportunities as I possibly can during my next four years.

3. The People

I love meeting new people and making friends, and I can’t wait to meet as many people I can while at Rutgers! Whether I meet them in classes, in clubs and activities, or in my dorm, these are the people that are going to become my Rutgers family; these are the people that are going to help make a huge college feel like home. I already know some people at Rutgers from home and from visiting many times, but I’m looking forward to getting to know even more people at orientation and beyond!!

There is so much excitement that goes into being a freshman at Rutgers, and I can’t wait to get started with it all this August 🙂
