Calling all geeks and nerds!! Tomorrow is the first day of Geek Week 2018, and it’s time for all of us to shine. Now, you may be wondering: what the heck is Geek Week? It’s a week filled with all kinds of events celebrating the different things that people geek out about. Maybe for you that’s something that you consider a guilty pleasure, or maybe it’s something about yourself that you show off, but either way, this is the time to be proud of the stuff you love. I’ve been involved in planning Geek Week since the beginning of fall semester, and I want to make sure you know about all of the super cool events coming up this week that you won’t want to miss!!

During the day on Tuesday, there will be a VR Showcase going on at the Busch Student Center! This event was organized by my friend Jordan, and it is definitely going to be one of the highlights of this year’s Geek Week. This is an event like no other, and it’s a must-see. As an active member of Muggle Mayhem, Rutgers’s chapter of the Harry Potter Alliance, I was very active in planning this event, and I promise that it is worth the hype I’m about to give it. Join either Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, or Durmstrang and compete against the other schools in a night of epic challenges!! Win points for your team by competing in a variety of different tasks and have a blast with your friends in the process. No Harry Potter knowledge is required to participate in this event. You can preregister here to guarantee a spot on your chosen team, or you can just show up and we will assign you to a team.

10:00 AM-5:00 PM // Let The Games Begin! // James Dickson Carr Library

Show off your love of board games at the Carr Library on Livingston! Have a blast with your friends by playing any of a large selection of board games. While board games are always meant to be fun, they can get quite competitive, so get ready to win! The extravaganza continues all day long, so make sure to stop by.
