Sure, you’re going to miss the food you used to eat at home (or not, depends), but don’t let that allow yourself to start eating junk food in the a.m. or p.m. Rutgers dining halls have a wide variety of foods to choose from and many of them are healthy, but then again there are always going to be the unhealthy options such as ice cream or pizza. When I attended the Freshmen Orientation I noticed the wide variety of foods they had and I was able to satisfy my hunger with those foods which included: baked chicken, grilled veggies, roasted potatoes. Quite a balanced meal if I may say so myself (I may have had a couple of cookies).
Depending on the type of person you are, as midterms and finals approach throughout the school year you’ll most likely be overwhelmed with stress and what comes along with stress? Eating food heavy in carbs and saturated fats and trans fats will make you lethargic throughout the day, especially during class or when you’re studying and that’s a big no-no, because we want to be able to do our best and sometimes the reason why many people can’t focus or actually do their best is usually the food they eat. The mind is as healthy as you make your body. You are not only feeding your body with the nutrients it needs but the mind as well.
